Hello from Philly!!

Wow, we have had such a wonderful time in Philadelphia. We miss Tyden incredibly (I have only cried twice!). I will start from the beginning....
Friday- got stuck in traffic and the starting and stopping made me feel terrible...the flight was ok, kind of bumpy, ears were so-so, had a bad headache!! I am not a good traveler so I was very happy when we landed. We got to the hotel and went right to bed as we knew we had a long day and a lot of walking ahead of us tomorrow.
Saturday- took our time getting ready, went to center city philadelphia, saw the liberty bell, independence hall, washington square with the tomb of the unknown soldiers, the steps Rocky runs up in the movie AND we got our first philly cheesestake! Bryant was all about the cheesesteaks! John Duffy (used to pitch for the Redhawks and then coach with dad at Concordia for a few years) picked us up and took us for dinner at 2 famous cheesestake places. The lines were incredible, but went super fast and you have to order fast, hand money fast, and they get crabby if you hold up the line...."woman lets go, you are killing me" was what was said to me! :) We got 4 different cheesesteaks to share! Bryant has had 3 cheesesteaks so far. John then took us to the stadium for the game. Our tickets were tremendous of course since Chris Coste (back up catcher for the Phillies who played for my dad at Concordia) got them for us. We bought some shirts and a bobblehead at the gift shop and then enjoyed beautiful weather at the Phillies game. They won too!! Howard hit a HR and a Grand Slam!!!

Sunday- got ready and went right to the stadium. Coster got us good tickets again!!! AND THE BEST PART OF THE TRIP.....Chris got the start and his first at bat was a HOME RUN!!!! We were so excited!!! He then walked the next two at-bats and then singled so he had a great day!! Bryant again had another cheesesteak! We went back to center city after the game and had supper. We are now packed and ready to go as we need to leave the hotel shortly after 4am for our flight back. I cannot wait to see my little boy!

NEW BED!!!

We have reached yet another milestone. And I have cried at each one...even a new bed. We took down Tyden's crib yesterday. We put up his twin bed and went shopping for new sheets. He got to pick them out, can't say I am surprised at his choice!! The bedding set actually matches his room really well so that is fun! He did not have any problems with the adjustment. He cried when we took down his crib because he thought his bed broke and that he didn't have one anymore. We then put up the new one and he was jumping around because he was so excited to sleep in a 'big boy bed." In fact, his first sleep in the bed was nap yesterday and he slept for 4 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!! His night was just as good!! He is so proud.

Memorial Weekend

Well, we sure accomplished a lot over Memorial Weekend!! We started our landscaping, all we have left is to plant the shrubs and put the rock in. Bryant did a really good job...he even went straight!!! :) The reward was to go to the lake when we were done. Tyden had a blast throwing things in the lake, playing outside, and trying on his life-jacket. He was wiped out the rest of the night. (The picture with his life-jacket on is how he has been smiling lately....I am sure his 2 year pictures will be real great!) :)

The difference between Tyden and Austin

My sister's family came over after Minims (Katelynn's little choir at church) with ice cream from the Tastee Freeze!!! It was so fun. I think the picture speaks for itself...but here is one of the many differences between Tyden and his cousin Austin. Austin's shake is actually supposed to be for their family of 4, but seemed to stay in his hands most of the night!! Tyden just got a taste in his little cup and didn't even finish it! :) haha

Snowpants???

It just isn't right to run the bases with snowpants!!! Although, I really don't think Tyden cared...nor did Papa. It was soooooooo cold this past weekend. It is supposed to be nice the rest of the week, but rain again on the weekend! :(

Happy Easter!!

We spent Easter in Montevideo this year with Bryant's family. It was beautiful weather so Tyden loved playing outside. He loved his Easter baskets (because he knew there M & M's in the Easter eggs). Tyden loved playing with his Uncles. Now that we are home he doesn't know what to do without all of that attention!!! :)

Pre-Easter

The basket looks kind of girly (that is because it is mine that I have it out for decoration with wooden eggs in it), but Tyden LOVES it. He goes and hides the eggs and then I have to go and find them...which isn't hard because he dumps them all out in the same spot everytime! :) He also leads me right to them. :) He usuallys says..."Hide eggs Mom?"

Anyway...the outfit is one of my favorites and we wanted to show it off in church today. His cousin Austin has the orange vest and Katelynn has the color skirt and top that matches Tyden's vest. We were hoping to get a picture at church and as you can see my son was the only one not cooperating (schocker!!). We did manage to keep the outfit clean so we can wear it on Easter when we go to Montevideo to celebrate with Bryant's family. p.s. Bryant is the butcher who chopped his hair!!! It looks like there is nothing left, but there is some there it is just so electric blonde!
