Christmas Baking!

Well, I don't bake much for Christmas since this is my busy time at work....but now that Tyden gets so excited we did make one thing. It is really easy and took us maybe 30 minutes. You take round pretzels, hershey kisses (we used milk chocolate, hugs, and the new peppermint ones). You put the kisses in the middle of the pretzel and bake them at 300 for 3 minutes...once they come out of the oven you put an M&M on top and stick them outside until they harden!! Tyden did almost all of it! He unwrapped the kisses (fine motor! :) ), put the kisses in the middle of the pretzel and then ate the finished product! We didn't let him put the M&Ms on as they were too hot. We had so much fun!!

Tyden

We took some pictures to use for our Christmas card. We have managed to get Tyden to smile without crinkling his nose! But most importantly we have only been in the ER once in the past 6 months! :) We have the whole asthma thing figured out now and his nebulizer has been an absolute blessing. He can now run the bases without couging and wheezing so hard he would throw-up! He has only gotten croup once in the past 6 months (which was our 1 trip to the ER as he couldn't inhale...an absolutely terrible experience!). We were used to what he sounded like with croup since he has had it about 7 times now, but he never had trouble inhaling before! We did the "egg challenge" so he can now eat eggs without reacting, but the nuts will be an allergy forever I think!

Our first shovel of the season!

I will remind Tyden when he is 15 that he used to cry because he wanted to help shovel so bad! We now have a little shovel for him and he helped! I normally don't have him wear such a "girlie" scarf but his stuff was in the wash. He did however get to wear Daddy's UNC hat! :)

WHEW!

I know it has been long overdue for a new post! Up until this very hour, I have been doing scouting reports, traveling to games and to watch recruits, finishing my grad school classes (1 semester left!!!), and squeezing in some Tyden time! I am currently at home after a 6am practice and I am watching Regis & Kelly and not feeling guilty about it! :) I am so happy to have a break as it is much needed. Tyden has been a trooper through it all. He comes recruiting with me so I don't feel like a workaholic! He recently showed me how he can "follow-through like mom's players"...he really does follow-through when he shoots baskets! He reminds me everyday that he is still on Santa's good list. We did take him to Santa's village and he was rather impressed with Santa and the real reindeer...he continues to talk about how he saw the reindeer going potty! :) :) We did the potty training thing over a long weekend in October. He was actually pretty easy and now he wears underwear at night like Papa's players! :) Here is a picture of Tyden, Katelynn and Austin at Santa's village.

Papa turns 60!

We celebrated my dad's bday with dinner at my mom and dad's house. It was wonderful! The kids got to help Papa blow out his candle.

Happy Halloween!

Tyden was a Cowboy tonight for Halloween! He had so much fun! We had pumpkin shaped pizza at Auntie Jennifer's house and then went trick-or-treating. Tyden said "trick-or-treat" and "thank you" at each house so I was very proud! He also ran the entire time as he always had to be first at the next house. In one of the pictures you will see from left to right-Katelynn, Tyden, Eli, Noah, and Austin. Eli and Noah are my sister's nephews on Craig's side. It was such a fun day/night. Tyden was so tired he fell asleep as he hit the pillow.

Carving Pumpkins with Papa

Every year Papa finds the biggest pumpkin for each grandkid. Tyden told Cobber Kids that Papa grows the pumpkins and when they asked where he grows them he said...."walmart!" :) He doesn't like to dig his hands in the pumpkin, but would use a spoon!

Skull Cap?

Yes, a skull cap!! I bet you know who was behind this...his uncles! Brett got this skull cap for football. He tried it on Tyden and then taught him how to look "tough." He wore it for quite some time! They now think he needs one for Christmas. He could be the first two year old with his very own skull cap! :)

Football Fever

Football is officially underway for the Cobbers! They played great on saturday and beat #8 in the country Willamette. Now that Tyden is watching football he always wants to tackle people. He knows he can't tackle Austin anymore (that was not a good situation) but he can tackle, mom, dad, and uncles! Uncle Todd is playing for the Cobbers and Tyden loves to sing the Cobber fight song and go to the games!

The Boys

My mom and dad got Tyden and Austin matching Twins jackets. They are sporting them here at the Redhawks game! Tyden is also standing with Katelynn for the national anthem. He was copying how the players stand for the anthem with his hat behind his back. Does it get cuter?????

Another Lake!

We got invited to my friend Emily's parent's home on the lake. She and her husband Dave spend a lot of time there and graciously let us come and spend the day there. Here is how the day went....

1. Went swimming while throwing rocks in the lake.

2. Went fishing and caught 2 sun fish with Dave.

3. Went swimming...

4. Went fishing. :)

5. Got a snack.

6. Went exploring outside and found all kinds of fun things.

7. Went for a boat ride.

8. Had a wonderful supper.

9. Went swimming again!! :)

10. Read books and watched some of the Twins game before leaving for home.

Tyden was so busy that he fell asleep before we even reached the interstate. It was a wonderful day and thank you Em and Dave for hosting!!!

Happy Bday Austin!!

My nephew turned 2 on Aug. 8th! He had a super fun "Batman" party! Papa Bucky put together a game of t-ball...which Tyden loved and they swam and went on the slip and slide. The picnic table in the picture was the dugout. It was really good for Tyden to learn to wait for his turn and cheer on his teammates.

The Lake

We spent a couple days at the lake last week. Tyden loves to swim and throw things in the water even though it wasn't the warmest of days. Uncle Todd and Uncle Brett came home with us for a few days and Tyden was in heaven!!!!!!

Oh My Nephew

Well, to try to win his heart over I decided to put a picture of Austin on my blog. He doesn't seem to like his Auntie much even if I offer treats. Kisses are few and far between and if I ask "do you want to read a book with Auntie" he SHOUTS "NOOOOO." It breaks my heart since my niece never leaves my side. But this picture is so classic Austin. This is his batting stance. He has a lot of power hitting the ball and might need it as we aren't so sure how speedy he will be. :)

Birthday Party!

I probably should have posted this before the wedding pictures, but we celebrated Tyden's 2nd Birthday on June 21st! I cannot believe he is two!!! We had a great party. The kids played and played...in fact Tyden only opened one present and was off playing with it as it was a Twins helmet! My niece Katelynn gladly took over the present opening. :) Thanks to all who came and for the really nice gifts.

one more wedding picture

I couldn't resist putting this one on here so you can see his suspenders!! :)

Ring Bearer

Well, Tyden did it...he was the ring bearer at Uncle Darin's and now Auntie Keri's wedding! The oohs and aahs from the crowd were so fun and he did a good job. He was exhausted and in the morning he told me "mom, ring bearer all gone." I think the pictures explain it all, but he looked pretty cute in his tux. It was really hard having him sit with me until it was time to exchange the rings...he wanted to go see daddy and all his uncles up by the altar.
p.s. My mom graciously took Tyden after the ceremony so Bryant and I could enjoy the evening...THANKS MOM!

more pictures

here are the other pictures that didn't fit below....

What has Tyden been up to?

Well, it seems like all we do is play baseball. I have hardly had time to take pictures of him because I am too busy running after his ball (and I must say he can hit it a pretty long ways, but everything is a homerun anyway!!). Here is Tyden:

1. learning how to field a ground ball from Papa

2. at the Redhawks game with his Hawkeye, (he really doesn't want anything to do with the real mascot, but loves the toy), and an adorable picture of him cuddling with Uncle Craig

3. trying on daddy's Jordan headband...he loves headbands and trying on daddy's helmet

4. his 2 yr. pictures...he smiles with his nose wrinkled up (just like his Uncle Todd did when he was little) so the one we will use one of the ones by the tree...we had to catch him by surprise before he wrinkled his nose!!
