Wow, we have had such a wonderful time in Philadelphia. We miss Tyden incredibly (I have only cried twice!). I will start from the beginning....
Friday- got stuck in traffic and the starting and stopping made me feel terrible...the flight was ok, kind of bumpy, ears were so-so, had a bad headache!! I am not a good traveler so I was very happy when we landed. We got to the hotel and went right to bed as we knew we had a long day and a lot of walking ahead of us tomorrow.
Saturday- took our time getting ready, went to center city philadelphia, saw the liberty bell, independence hall, washington square with the tomb of the unknown soldiers, the steps Rocky runs up in the movie AND we got our first philly cheesestake! Bryant was all about the cheesesteaks! John Duffy (used to pitch for the Redhawks and then coach with dad at Concordia for a few years) picked us up and took us for dinner at 2 famous cheesestake places. The lines were incredible, but went super fast and you have to order fast, hand money fast, and they get crabby if you hold up the line...."woman lets go, you are killing me" was what was said to me! :) We got 4 different cheesesteaks to share! Bryant has had 3 cheesesteaks so far. John then took us to the stadium for the game. Our tickets were tremendous of course since Chris Coste (back up catcher for the Phillies who played for my dad at Concordia) got them for us. We bought some shirts and a bobblehead at the gift shop and then enjoyed beautiful weather at the Phillies game. They won too!! Howard hit a HR and a Grand Slam!!!
Sunday- got ready and went right to the stadium. Coster got us good tickets again!!! AND THE BEST PART OF THE TRIP.....Chris got the start and his first at bat was a HOME RUN!!!! We were so excited!!! He then walked the next two at-bats and then singled so he had a great day!! Bryant again had another cheesesteak! We went back to center city after the game and had supper. We are now packed and ready to go as we need to leave the hotel shortly after 4am for our flight back. I cannot wait to see my little boy!
